The peach tree responds to the sustained warmth and the blossoms open ... an invitation to the bees to take the next step in the fruiting process. And I choose to live in hope - for warmth and fruit this year - and if not this year, then next year.
When dryness is deep in my soul, I have to realize that I can't fix this deep dryness by my own action. I am a dependent person, dependent on God and His Spirit to provide water to assuage my deep thirst.
As someone who loves flowers, you would think that getting a bouquet on this day would be high on my list of wants. But so much of the expectation of this holiday seems forced.
