Though I was a reluctant visitor to the OKC memorial, I was impressed with the way the park-like block was laid out to provide space to think and process, and to honor the victims. Today is the anniversary of the bombing, it's Good Friday and it's been a hard week in Denver. We need reflective spaces - physically and for our souls.
I sat and watched the dark turn to light on this first day of spring. When the first light of the dawn pushed away the darkness, the tree branches were black against the sky. Then I noticed that colors started to emerge. I needed more light to see color.
I am worried about my flowers. They don't know to worry, because they only know what is, not what might be. They don't know that there is a blizzard warning for tomorrow. They know the forces that pull them through each season. And they know that their time on earth may be brief, but it is beautiful.
